Raised as Family

At Roper’s Boxers, our dogs are first and foremost part of our family. They are raised with plenty of space, daily interaction, outdoor time, and the companionship of our family and pack. While our dogs have their own designated spaces when needed, they are never simply housed in kennels and forgotten. Our boxers live their lives as dogs should — with room to run, play, and be part of the family.

Designed for Their Comfort

Boxers don’t tolerate extreme temperatures well, so in 2013 we enclosed a covered patio off our living room to create a climate-controlled space just for them. It’s connected to our main HVAC system, so our dogs enjoy the same comfortable temperatures we do while still having direct access to their outdoor yards through doggie doors.

We currently have four separate spaces: one for our main pack, one for girls in heat, and two dedicated to moms with puppies. The main pack and girls in heat have access to large grass yards, while each of our two puppy areas has its own yard surfaced with veterinary-grade artificial turf. The turf gives our puppies a clean, comfortable place to play while allowing us to thoroughly clean and disinfect their yards between litters.

Our puppies begin using doggie doors at an early age, giving them the freedom to move between their indoor and outdoor spaces and helping them get a great start on house training before they leave for their new homes.

Carefully Selected

We’re extremely selective about the dogs we include in our family and breeding program. We look for calm temperaments, intelligence, and the classic boxer look we love. We do not breed overly hyper or untrainable dogs.

Through years of careful selection and exceptional veterinary care, we’ve built a healthy, confident pack. Some of our dogs have undergone genetic testing — for example, our male JJ is negative for both ARVC and DM by parentage. DM must be inherited from both parents to affect a puppy so his pups cannot be affected by this condition.

Our goal is to raise beautiful, intelligent, healthy boxers with the temperament to become lifelong members of their families. From the dogs we choose for our breeding program to the environment in which our puppies are raised, every decision we make is centered around producing boxers we’re proud to call ours.
