Purchasing from Roper’s Boxers – FAQ’s & What You Need to Know

🩺 What vet care do puppies receive before going home?

  • Tails docked and dewclaws removed
  • Complete veterinary exams by our team at SAHO Animal Hospitals
  • Vaccinations at 6 weeks (and again if they remain longer)
  • Deworming every 2 weeks starting at 2 weeks old
  • Preventative care for coccidiosis and heartworm/flea/tick prevention at 8 weeks
  • Microchipped before leaving our home

Puppies go home at 8 weeks with:

  • A puppy folder containing AKC paperwork, health records, and vaccine schedule
  • A blanket with familiar scents from mom and littermates
  • A small bag of their current food
  • Other fun items in their puppy kit

🚽Are puppies potty trained or crate trained?

Our puppies are whelped and raised indoors in a climate-controlled space right off our living room. Each 5’x5’ run has access to a private yard with veterinary-grade turf that we disinfect daily.

Starting at 5 weeks, they begin learning to go potty outside using their own doggie doors. By 8 weeks, they’re consistently using those doors — making house training much easier in their new homes. While we don’t crate train before they leave, they adjust quickly because their runs mimic that environment.

🐾Are your puppies registered? Can I breed my puppy?

All of our boxers are AKC registered. Puppies are sold with limited registration, which means they cannot be shown in all AKC classes and cannot produce registered litters. They’re priced at $1500.

A small number of puppies may be offered with full registration (breeding rights) for an additional fee. Less than 10% of our puppies qualify — we’re very selective to ensure only the best candidates continue our program’s bloodlines.

❤️Do you ever have older puppies or adult dogs available?

Occasionally, we have retired or older dogs available for adoption. They are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm prevention, and microchipped before leaving.

📋 How do I reserve a puppy? Can I visit in person?

We list puppies at around 2 weeks of age, but we don’t begin taking deposits until they’re about 3 weeks old. Our waiting list families choose first, then remaining puppies are available to everyone.

  • A $300 deposit and signed Puppy Purchase Agreement are required to hold a puppy. Our puppies are $1500 with limited AKC Registration (Pet Price).
  • In-person visits are welcome once puppies reach 6 weeks of age — this keeps them safe from illness during their most fragile period.
  • We do not allow visitors to bring other dogs for everyone’s safety.

To join our waiting list or reserve a puppy, visit our Waiting List page or contact us. A copy of our puppy purchase agreement is attached below.  We will send a puppy specific agreement once you select the puppy you’d like to reserve.
